How I met the client brief

The Coca Cola LTD company has asked my independent production company to create an advertising campaign for a healthy fizzy drink. I have created an apple flavoured fizzy drink called "Aloha". The healthy factor of the fizzy drink which was required by Coca Cola LTD is that it contains no added sugars, artificial colours or preservatives as this makes it a healthier alternative to other fizzy drink brands which usually have a high sugar content to make them sweet, preservatives to boost their shelf life while also making the drink unhealthier and artificial colours which make the drink look more visually appealing but use unhealthy chemicals to make the drink appear the unnatural colour. Coca Cola LTD has asked for an advertisement in the format of a billboard, web banner and magazine advert.

I have provided for all three of these forms of advertising, making them all in a similar theme to further increase the recognisability and memorability of the product. Coca Cola LTD has also asked for the drink to appeal towards the younger generation with a target audience of around 16-25 years old. I have achieved this by making the colour scheme of the product a light red and yellow. This is because brighter colours are typically more attracting to younger audiences and are better at catching the eye of a younger viewer.

I have also made the font fun and joyful as I was aiming for a less serious product to cater towards the younger target audience, this is because a more simplified font may be used for products catered towards people who are 25+ as they may be used for products which are more serious or adult based such as an energy drink like Powerade.

Coca Cola LTD also asked for the product to be for both male and female and the colour scheme also works with this as red and yellow are both not gender lenient colours meaning that both genders are able to appreciate the visual appeal of the product. I have tried to make my advertisements look professional and as close to a real life fizzy drink product as possible, I think that I have succeeded this as I have gotten inspiration from the advertisements of Fanta with the up-beat minimalistic look of their print and web advertisements. I achieved this by including little information on my advertisements to make them seem straight to the point and easy to read instead of a bombardment of information which may lose the viewers interest or be difficult to read for the viewer.

While creating the advertisements, I used many different methods of editing in Photoshop ranging from simple to complex, For example I used the pen curvature tool for my product logo which is usually considered as a difficult method and it took time to learn. I also used the warp effects on my text which is considered a simple method of editing but it is not usually used so this makes my advertisements stand out. Below are images of my finished advertisements with the first image being my print advertisement in a magazine format, the second image being my web banner and the third image being my print advertisement in a billboard format.

In relation to the brief, I believe that I managed to achieve what the Coca Cola LTD company has asked of me by creating a drink brand which perfectly promotes a healthy lifestyle. The way in which I did this is by making the main focus of the advertisements and the unique selling point of the drink itself the fact that the drink does not include any added sugars or preservatives. I also decided to use symbolism within my drink product logo by using the picture of an apple which is typically associated with positive health.

As you can see within the sketches of my advertisements I decided to stick close to the original design which I had planned within the main production of the advertisements. However, once it came to the production of the advertisements there was different stylistic choices which I had made sure to include to improve the overall quality of how the advertisements appeared visually. One of the main stylistic choices which I included within the production of the advertisements was the flames along the bottom of each advertisement, I decided to include this as it goes further into the tropical summer theme which I was aiming for while also filling up the poster to make it look more bunched up rather than a bare poster. Another stylistic choice which I decided to make was the curved text which I decided to use as it makes the poster look more aesthetically professional while also playing further into the relaxing theme of the advertisements.

I decided to create a version of the poster advertisement with social media icons which show the viewer of the advertisements the different platforms in which they can get more information about the product from. This is so that the viewer does not get confused about the product if they do not already know what this is, it will also encourage the viewer to engage with the Aloha social media platform accounts and product.
